A graduate of The University of Virginia, Stuart completed a successful four-year-tour in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer culminating in a strategic battalion position during Operation Desert Storm. Following Desert Storm, he embarked on a five-year sales and operations opportunity with consumer products giant Newell-Rubbermaid Corporation, and concurrently earned his MBA from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. In 1998, Stuart was recruited by Bank Boston Ventures to work with one of its portfolio companies, Langston Corporation, where he managed 500 employees and developed sales budgets in excess of $75,000,000.
With a goal to add value to the lives of people and help companies better manage surging healthcare costs led Stuart to found Innovative Wellness Solutions (IWS) which later became Allegeant, LLC. Seeing the opportunity to align all benefit-related vendors to specific outcome metrics led Stuart to launch Total Health Management, Inc. Total Health executes its risk management process with hospitals and companies, with compensation ultimately derived from gain share arrangements.
Stuart also actively supports military veteran causes with his General Partner role with the Veterans' Opportunity Fund which has a mission to deploy capital in veteran-owned and operated businesses.
Stuart and his wife reside in the Baltimore area with their six children. Stuart is currently on the Board of Directors of The Baltimore Station (www.baltimorestation.org) and the Maryland chapter of the American Diabetes Organization (www.diabetes.org).
